My husband Mike & I started going to dog shows and showing Cocker Spaniels in 1984. In 1988 we decided on getting a Shetland Sheepdog and finally in 1990 we got our first sheltie to show. Over the years I have learned alot about the breed and have bred 2 champions to date others that are pointed. I have also met alot of wonderful people through the years and have belonged to Interstate Shetland Sheepdog Club since 1990 and The Shetland Sheepdog Club of Northern NJ since 1994. I have served as an officer of both clubs at one time although with moving to Northeast Pennsylvania from New Jersey it is hard to make the meetings but I still belong to the clubs and try to help out with events when time allows. We would like to thank everyone who has helped us and educated us through the years. And especially to my friends who have stood by my side and still do. Our shelties are raised as our pets inside and we have a nice large yard for them to romp in plus a nice stone yard for keeping them clean during the muddy season. My girls are tested for hereditary defects and have their OFA's and eye checks. I always breed to boys who are VWD vet gen clear or clear by parentage. My boys are all VWD vet gen clear in addition to the OFA and eye checks. All my puppies are vet checked and in the past 18 years of breeding I have never had a puppy returned for any reason. Actually I have had many return puppy buyers who have come back to buy a pup from me. I am dedicated to producing the best I can breed. I study pedigrees and try to breed for health and type. When I breed I choose the best dog for my girl and I do breed for myself and my next show dog of course when doing this I do not get all show dogs so some are sold as pets. |
